…Yes it has…but don’t worry, I’ve still been as busy as ever!
Here’s a run down of what’s been going on:
We’ve had the lovely Sarah in the city and we’ve been busy doing some sightseeing whilst she’s been around. My favourite is still the Staten Island Ferry. No matter how many times I do it, I still enjoy it.
Our wonderful friend Kirsty and her man Lex came to visit us last Saturday and we went for a wee jaunt in the park, played frisby and generally enjoyed the sun…
As always, there’s been alot of baby food prep going on. It really is so much nicer now that she eats, well, just about everything and all I have to do is blitz a little of last night’s dinner. It is, however, often a battle at tea time…!
We had the lovely Dominique’s belated birthday party in the park. We munched on yummy things, drank some fizzy (which felt slightly wrong when the school children started their track practice right next to our little picnic spot…we carried on regardless!) and talked until the sun started going down and the kiddo’s started screeching. Ha! I made some orange cream cupcakes (which I rather foolishly forgot to snap), another fabric scrap card and a zip purse for the chevron-loving birthday girl…
We went to the annual German-American parade in the city this past Saturday… the highlight being this awesome hot dog car. Love the composition of this in front of the stunning architecture of The Met. We waved our flags and felt a little nostalgic…
I finally put the little bow on Molly’s autumn hat. She looks pretty darn cute in it… Jake was helpful in getting her to smile instead of trying to eat the camera (when I said she’d eat anything….)
There’s a new baby boy on the scene and it was a wonderful opportunity to make another jersey knit hat. This one is so sweet and the fabric is sooo soft. Hope he likes it!
And finally….now that autumn is just around the corner, it’s soup making time! Last week, curried parsnip. This week, carrot and coriander…yum!
See you again soon! x
